Random Thoughts... [Entertainment Edition]

Mirror's edge also does some thing with a blue dot that supposedly alleviates motion sickness.

Just watched the movie "The Runaways". I've always been a fan of the music of Joan Jett and especially Lita Ford. After seeing the movie, I have this to say about it - What the hell kind of crap was that?

Although it is supposed to be outlining the history of "The Runaways", it is actually focusing on Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, and their homosexual and drug abuse experiences. Lita Ford has 2-3 lines in the entire movie and is presented as just a background musician. Even at the end of the movie, the credits talk about the careers of Currie, Jett, the manager of the band...the rest of the band are not even mentioned.

I bet Lita Ford is pissed!

As a movie, it sucked big time - plot was too vague and jumped a lot, the acting was terrible. The movie relied solely on the images of teenage girls with guitars jumping around in their underwear (there is plenty of scenes like that). The only people who would like this movie are perverts.

One good thing that I liked was that they referenced Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple. That's about it.

Watched it last night with my gf, we gave up about an hour into the movie.

I saw it. I thought it was pretty good, but I like this type of movies. I also enjoyed the fact that the 2 of the IT Crowd actors were in it :)

I just watched "Wanted" at the cinema. My brain will need a few days to recover...

Anybody else seen the boat that rcked?

Saw it when it came out; I thought it was fairly awful.

Some great actors and a nice concept somewhat undermined by a fairly awful and predictable script (hello Richard Curtis), and using a Keane album cover as "the essence of rock and roll" just made me want to barf a bit.

Anyone know stuff about headphones? All I have at the moment are a pair of Shur in-ear phones, and they're great, but I want to get a pair of headphones for long lasting comfort (the in-ear phones get uncomfortable after a few hours). What else is good for $100 or less? My brother has a pair of Shure SRH440s, they're pretty good and I could get a pair for just over $100, but just wondering what else there is or if any audiophile types around here have any opinions.

If you want to start at the low end, I'd recommend the JVC HA-RX700. I wear mine for several hours a day and they are quite comfortable. They can be found for less than half of your budget.

Kings went way too soon. They could have at least given us one full season.

Not sure if this was posted before, but there is a Fox show set for midseason 2011 which Spielberg is involved with...

I actually recently decided to watch "The Good Wife"....and it was awesome....I finished the first season (23 episodes) in a matter of days. So if you like legal/courtroom dramas....definitely check it out.

Just watched Toy Story 3! Its fucking emotional! Im not going to give away spoilers here but I got to say that Pixar probably aimed this movie at the generation who watched the original. Im sure the kids who watch it now will not enjoy the movie as the earlier generation.

^ There's a great facebook group called "Move out of the way children, I've waited 11 years to see Toy Story 3". So true, and while I'm waiting for it to be released here, I'll definitely be watching it. Anyone seen it in 3D? Is it worth seeing it in 3D.
