The Manitoba of New England, perhaps; if Connecticut was replaced by a warp gate, I'd visit New York more often.

Wait...you don't go to NYC as often as you would please because you have to cross a postage stamp? :p

We in New England have a more English view of distance than those of you out west. A 4 hour drive (Boston to NYC) is a chore. Plus I hit 4k rpm at 80 mph so it's just plain tiring.

I've been thinking of getting my bicycle out of the cellar and dusting it off... I haven't riden it for years. Might be a bit of a weekend project to fix it up

So, apparently Ira Glass, Jon Hodgeman, and David Sedaris are on The Daily Show tonight. Holy shit, they must have finally read all my fan letters.

Too bad I can't watch it from here, because Jon Stewart hates black people foreigners. Racist.

You can watch the different segments straight off the TDS website!

rain in the land of never ending sunshine?! is that actually possible... then television has lied to me, endless shows of neigbours would always depict australia as never having any rain. i am shocked and disappointed. next there wil lbe someone saying that there's no such thing as the Easter Bunny and Sandy Claus is just a urban legend.

Alf Stewart's (Home and Away character) wife drowned in a flood due to a storm in one episode lol, so they occasionally show rain.

Could be worse, the police could actually mistake you for a serial rapist.

Like what happened to me. They didn't arrest me or anything, just asked who I was. Serious police, if I'm running from you, am I going to go to a Tim Horton's?

It is bad to be mistaken to be anyone by the police. It has happened to me, and it was unpleasant.

It is Comedy Central, not Jon.

So far the campstove is the most expensive, at $79.00 which I think is a ripoff. I think I will find an iron skillet somewhere else as with a pot and saucepan, preferably cheap aluminum. I have old utensils and cooking tools, there is no need to buy an aircraft aluminum fork knife and spoon set, and I have a outdoors chair and a cooler.

I was going to suggest something like this, but I don't know how expensive that is over there, I have a model slightly bigger than that and it's brilliant.

Ohh, there is rain down there, really annoying to sleep in a car when it's pouring down <_<

Do it. If you get high after riding you're doing it right.

No I can't, because Comedy Central and Viacom have blocked videos for those outside America, like the BBC does with Top Gear clips for those outside the UK. And I obviously know Jon Stewart isn't a racist...

I can watch those clips just fine! So it's probably just the UK then.
I can also watch the top gear clips!

well that was... interesting. arrived at BCTV today to find out about my work placement with Tescos. got there and was told that i would be having a placement interview with the manager of a tesco's store on the other side of the town. cause much panic because as i've constantly explained to them i don't have my own transport and i have to catch the buses. because there is no direct service from my home to the store. i would have to get on more than one bus in a bus journey that would take 2 hours just to get there (after 7pm, it would take around 3 hours as well to get home). the store was great and exactly what i was looking for. when i was explaining this to the manager she asked "would you be able to arrive on time?" to which i replied "to be brutally honest. no i can't guarantee i would be on time because of the nature of the bus service." she thanked me for my honesty and i explained to her that this placement wasn't for me. anything that involves a 4 hour or more journey there and back isn't worth it when i'm not being paid and i'm not even having travel costs covered.
there are times where i honestly feel like screaming at the top of the voice is the only way to get BCTV to listen to me. even the job center themselves said that i should only be looking at work that involves a total time of a hour and a half for travel. so how BCTV think they can get away with me doing 4 or more hours is beyond me.
hopefully it will be a case of third time lucky. oddly enough this is in direct opposition to the last placement. great location and 15 minute journey time but crap work. this time it was crap location but great work. here's hoping the 3rd time will be right on the money.

Feeling a bit silly right now. Asking a guy friend to help me out because my bra broke...ladies of FG, how awkward do you think that would be? Because it was very awkward. Where's the blushing smilie, because my cheeks feel hot.

Well, its more like, I need a new bra, so I asked him because I have no money...I figured any normal red blooded American male couldn't pass up the chance to go bra shopping with a pretty lady, but unfortunately I caught him in the middle of playing a video game.

could have been worse and caught him in the middle of watching a porno, now that would be a whole new level of embarassment.

Getting correctly fitted for a bra makes a difference. Just ask for the store's best fitter. :)
