Random Thoughts....

Time-traveling Klingons...? That's...um...okay.

So how do you get rid of an employee who you can't really even attempt getting rid of; 'cause he's a sneaky, lying, devious shit stirring dick an' will pull every trick outta the hat to tek you to tribunal?

I like the 'plant porn on his computer then call the supervisor a few days later' trick.

I made it to England a few days ago and already I'm loving it here. There weren't any rooms available at the hotel on base so I'm staying at a hotel/pub. Oh darn! :p I've already been set up with a rental car (a 2001 Honda Accord with a 5-speed and VTEC kicked in yo!) and driving has been a bit of an adventure so far. Maybe I should have flipped through the Highway Code before setting off on public roads on my second day in the country. Oh well. The biggest problem I'm facing is that I have absolutely no idea where anything is so trying to find shops or anything ends in me getting very very lost. But hey, that's how you learn about your surroundings right? I've also taken part in the great tradition of watching Top Gear reruns on Dave. Next up is the search for a car of my own and a house to rent.

Aaaaaaaand I just finished watching the entirety of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This includes all of the related movies. Now that I've got that and TOS done with, time to start on Voyager and if they ever get it on Netflix, DS9...I WILL NEVER HAVE ANY FREE TIME BETWEEN THAT AND WORK. OH GOD.

I love it

You need a nice bloke to spoil you - take you to Strek conventions et al.

You kidding? Just having her (being female) showing up at a star trek convention will mean she will get all the male attention she needs.....and alot more. :p

That was the only good thing about the matrix sequels, the action, all the convoluted story lines get too confusing.
No, no, no. The action and special effects in the successors were significantly worse than in the first movie. Plus, they managed to ruin the story of the first with the second and third movie. I'm trying to forget the latter ones for almost a decade now, so I can finally enjoy watching the first Matrix again.

Stupid jet lag why am I dead tired at 6pm after waking up at 8am?

While I was still coherent today I discovered that roundabouts are fun when the 911 GT3 in front of you guns it off the exit and you have your windows open. That sound...mother of God! :woot:

Random thought for the morning: Ever since I switched to a BlackBerry I have been waking up before the alarm clock.

I'm not sure if I remember what rain looks like... Seriously the last I saw rain was back in May.....in England.

I've gone through 3 blackberry's in 7 months, don't ask me how because your guess is as good as mine. I hate it, email app is so plain and I'd love to have two other email accounts set up but the fact that it's all dumped into a single inbox bugs me. Same with Outlook, but that's another story.

I don't like the blackberry for some reason, it's just too plain, and the fact I've gone through so many in such a short time.

Burned out at work. So glad that next Monday we are getting an additional counterperson; the last time one was added was me, and that was November of 2004. Since then we have grown significantly. I am so tired from walking and standing that every Friday night I take a hot bath with two pounds of Epsom salts and Lavender so I can spool down and relax.

Maybe a snort or two of whisky* would help.

The downside is that while the FNG** has worked in Nissan for a few years, he hasnt used our system, which is Arkona. Any of you computer people, look up Arkona. Yeah. We use that for everything. He will eventually be scheduled 9-6 Tuesday through Saturday, but in the meantime for training purposes, he is working 8-5 and I will be working 9-6, probably for a few weeks. I am going to make the best of it and wake early to go bike riding, shower, eat then go to work.

*I drink Canadian, so therefore the spelling is correct.
**F**king New Guy.

Just name him Jafo. Just another f*cking observer. :D

I shan't complain about a free phone. I miss the awesome iPhail Mail.app, but I'm also enjoying the no-fuss characteristic of the Bold 9700. I've been more productive since I started using this phone, if for no other reason than because I don't play FIFA on it.

Had a bit of luck at work today. A customer had quite serious problems yesterday, so in the evening the brass at my company decided they wanted to send a developer down there today - me. But they couldn't reach me at home to tell me to come in early today in order to drive to the customer. So today I got greeted in the morning with "you are not in the phonebook". No, of course I'm not, but my phone number is - or at least should be - in my personnel file, if you care to look... :D (no, I didn't tell them that...)
Downside - I spent the day phone-supporting the non-dev guy who had to go to the customer...
