Random Thoughts....

There are people on Reddit who say that people who use this line of thought are wrong and just because they pick on you doesn't mean they will be any less successful than you are. The world is unfair but apparently also lets stupid people succeed.
Unfortunately this is true. Sadly it's often the egotistical jerks who end up making it far in life. Usually through unfair means and pissing off a lot of people along the way. They may have no true friends but they can be successful.

Currently watching the Adele Live in Royal Albert Hall DVD....Man, her (singing) voice is incredible.

I never got why parents should be treated with some special "respect" just for being parents.

^ This. Respect is something you earn, not something you're entitled to.

So, cleaning the crap out of your pants, paying for clothing and food, buying you things, giving you a roof over your head, teaching you how to walk and talk, teaching you how to use a toilet, paying for your schooling, and spending countless hours making sure you are properly healthy doesn't mean you should respect your parents?

I'm speechless.

This is exactly what I was getting at, not to beat a dead horse or anything. Respect is implicitly deserved due to those actions. I could understand if his parents were awful deadbeats who didn't do shit, but otherwise? No.

In other news. I've listed an item on Craigslist for the first time ever. I feel like such a computing n00b it isn't even funny. Is it normal for the email link CL attaches to your post to well...not work? A friend tried sending me something but it never showed up in my inbox. :shrugs:

I would argue that we are born with the knowledge of how to walk, we just have to get the strength and co-ordination to do it.

BTW, since I started the whole thing with Flareside. My point was really that there was a better way to handle that. Maybe I should of handled the getting the point across better too. So stop killing the dead horse.

Butt....that's the only way I'll get enough glue to assemble my violin! :( In any case, maybe I was also a bit too ferverant in my reaction and hopefully my apologies to him will result in no hard feelings, as that wasn't my intent at all.

Even though 90% of her notes are off key?

Hmm... lets compare the total amount of money and adoration IceBone's musical talent has brought him, to Adele's success.

None at all, this is the internet, not a therapy group IRL.

Yeah they're in entitled to respect, but how do you keep that respect when the little bit they give you gets burned up?

I need a small favor from our German members (and maybe Europeans... or anyone with a little time and some internet skills).

Can you guys check the legitimacy of https://www.uhren-sheriff.de/ for me.
I want to buy a watch from them, but I don't want to send them money if they're know to not follow through with their orders or stuff like that. I can't find anything on them, but then again I don't have time to find a review site for international vendors right now.

All their legal information that they need to provide by German law is not there. The site seems rather fishy to me.

[edit]

On archive.org the site has the same design, but it is in german with all the legal info in place. That seems rather strange to me.

One more thing. I found the watch I want at the shop's eBay page, but I don't know German well enough to read all the included details. I more or less figured out the watch info based on the Xen website, but I'm not sure about the return policy. They do have a 100% positive rating based on 904 reviews. Can someone have a look at it and tell me that its all good.

So, what you're saying is that proper parents deserve respect because of their actions, and are not entitled to it just because they are parents? Thank you very much for COMPLETELY missing my point and subsequently proving it.

Yes, most parents are responsible parents though. Even though we don't know Flareside's situation, one could reasonably (if perhaps a bit irresponsibly) infer that that (grrr...) is true for him as well because of that.

Hence my opinion on the subject. If/when a parent does so much for you for so long, it's only fair to show them a special sense of respect and gratitude through your actions.

Since I didn't know his situation, i should have remained neutral on the matter, you're correct.

Yes, a simple "that's not cool" would have sufficed, but something struck a nerve for some reason. Next time, I'll bite my tongue.

I had something different that sounded better/was more clear in my head but i cant recall what it is. If you discover a magic 5 am edit you'll know why.

For those of you who may have labeled me an Apple fanboy, rest assured that iProducts still have the unique ability to piss me off just as well as any Window machine ever did.

Every time my iPhone syncs music correctly I consider it an act of benevolence from a merciful deity, then go into the backyard and sacrifice a goat with a high priestess to ensure that next year's album syncing harvest will be a joyous one.

I never said I could sing. All I'm saying is she can't either.

While I'd say your assessment of 90% of her notes being off is a slight exaggeration I tend to agree with you. Also she can't write lyrics for shit. Behold the repetitive crap that is "Chasing Pavements"

I've made up my mind, don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong I am right, don't need to look no further
This ain't lust, I know this is love

But if I tell the world, I'll never say enough
'Cause it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do if I'd end up with you

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?

I build myself up and fly around in circles
Wait then as my heart drops and my back begins to tingle
Finally could this be it?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep on chasing pavements
Should I just keep on chasing pavements?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?

What you have there is a couple of very short verses combined with a long, dreary chorus that is repeated again and again. Then factor in endless rotation on the shit commercial local radio station they insisted on having on in the office where I worked at the time the song was current (hourly, roughly) and then marvel at the fact that I was able to go home at night having not even slightly killed anyone.

Oh, and the fact that having made ?8m from her debut album she then bitched on Twitter about having to pay her taxes. You can see why I'm not a huge fan, can't you?

She's still better than [insert overproduced multi-million-dollar pop star here, general bitching about the state of the modern music industry, a preference for 1970s classic and prog rock, and general disdain for 90% of the local population]!

For some reasons random pages on this site trigger the college webpage blocker.

I've attempted to access "material deemed unsuitable by the administrator" three times just attempting to browse random thoughts...

Edit - Seemingly it seems to be finding pornography everywhere, good job... *facepalm*
