Getting the Sunday scaries about the job I interviewed for. Trying to distract myself from it. Here's a Puffalump in an F40 duct. Good Puff.
 
There are some discord servers people here use for gaming, but there is not an official forum discord I'm aware of.

There is or was FreedomGear, a discord server founded by (former) forum users who felt this forum would be unfairly biased towards European Liberalism, but apart from that its mostly Telegram groups.
 
I wasn't going to mention that one, it was started by users who decided to leave (with some encouragement out the door) due to their... uh, interesting politics and toxicity.

I was invited over sometime later and only managed to stay for about a day or two before I left.
 
I thought it was funny "This community of people from all over the world, different backgrounds, and different socioeconomic situations is too much of an echo chamber. Let's go make our own community of, like, six people who don't ever want their opinions challenged with facts. All hail the almighty savior of us all, Cheeto-in-chief Donald "Orange Jowelius" Trump!"
 
Why is the main start number / name plate sponsor at the track and field / athletics world champs NTN? They make bearings, ffs, who are they advertising to?
Same goes for like 90% of pro cycling sponsors - I’ve never even heard of the vast majority of them. For the most part, they’re niche (ishhhh) manufacturers that only ever do b2b.
I just don’t get it.

But they insisted that they did not really like the Cheeto Bandito, but just liked that he owned the libs.

of course, as we all know, echos form best in large open spaces, so naturally open minds will cause echos

If that was who I think it was, I'm somehow both unsurprised and disappointed.

Wait, there's another one!? Because the discord with former FG members I'm in meets most of those criteria except the politics thing, which is banned.

FreedomGear sounds deeply unpleasant.

As for telegram groups, the variety of #gears is astounding. I ended up leaving the main group and kinda hang on the vintage group and the pet group. I was also in the food group until that one imploded in spectacular fashion (as anything finalgear related is apparently to do every so often) and never joined the new one.

I noticed my life is worse when I think about our politics too much, so honestly, me missing this was probably for the best.
 
Still waiting to hear back from the job I interviewed for, and nervous as balls accordingly. I'll send a "hi, still interested!" this weekend at some point.
