Random Thoughts....

A Tello board?

It works for me.

I admit, this comes from a very "american-centric" mindset, but I'm often caught off-guard when I realize just how populous other parts of the world are, outside of a) Europe, and b) India/china. I'm sure there was some 6th grade geography chapter that covered all of this, but I just haven't given it thought in the 30 years since.

I knew Indonesia had a high population...but I never really stopped to let it sink in that their population is about 83% of the US population.

If Indonesia and Nigeria were to somehow join forces in something, their population would be 50% bigger than the US.

Lagos in Nigeria has more people than Los Angeles. Cairo, Egypt has more people than New York City.

The population of Africa is more than twice the size of the population of North America.

I can see they removed the gun from his hand, but WTF happened to his face?

Done by AI? It looks like a mash-up of Arnie, Ben Affleck, and Robert Downey Jr.

I don't know why, but it never occurred to me that the planes that attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 were launched from an aircraft carrier.

For some reason, in my head, I always assumed they flew from Japan without giving it a second thought. In hindsight, that was dumb as shit. 😅

Fixed that for you.

Valid. I meant for "an aircraft carrier" to be just a general descriptor, not a specific singular carrier. Poor word selection.

Haven't you ever seen one of the movies about the attack?

I actually don't believe so. Not until 10 minutes before that post, when in a history class lecture, the teacher included a clip from a movie with Cuba Gooding Jr.

Or if I did, it only included the actual attack, not the departure.

Since I've reached the point where it might be rather tricky to order gifts I would need next week online (here in Belgium we also have "Sinterklaas" who brings gifts for the children on or somewhere close to the 6th of December), for the first time in years I did the Sinterklaas + Christmas shopping in a real brick and mortar toy store. I'm exhausted since it was a last minute decision and I didn't have a shopping list so ended up running through the store 5x for our gifts and the gifts from/for my parents in law. But strangely I actually enjoyed it .
