Random Thoughts....

Is it just me or does anyone else hate mint toothpaste
Yep, you have another acolyte.

He's not a very cuddly cat to begin with, even less so now. He freaked out while I was picking him up the other day and scratched up my arm quite badly, accidentally or otherwise he's never done that before. He does seem a little happier today, though. His sister is acting completely normal and whenever he freaked out she hissed at him as if to say 'You're a damn idiot, there's nothing wrong!'

Do not pick the Cat up = it does not like it.

Problem solved - just call me John Hodgeman.

Yep, I know that now. I haven't attempted to pick him up again until he's completely calmed down. Before he started doing this I could pick him if needed to put him in the laundry room (we shut them in there overnight so that they don't escape outside when my brother comes home from work at 1am) or to move him somewhere as needed. My brother is 'his' human, the one he's usually going to for affection, but this past week he's been very standoffish ever toward him.

On another note, it seems like my mother's car is finally fixed :touch wood:. It's been doing all the usual running around it was doing before the coolant leak started without any problems, even on warm days. Turns out the last crash repairer who worked on the car on fitted a new radiator to it, put the wrong kind of radiator cap on, but the Peugeot dealership mechanics missed that the first time we took in and they just flushed and cleaned up the system, fitted new raditor hoses etc. You'd think they'd notice that sooner! :wall: I might have something to do with the fact that this place only got the dealer franchise late last year (they are primarily a Mazda / Honda dealership, and I've always had my Jazz serviced there without anything but complete satifaction) and therefore only a couple of their mechanics are actually Peugeot specialists. They were busy just starting after the Christmas break when the 306 was taken in there in the first week of January.

Bloody dramas all holidays so far, but at least we're not underwater or surrounded by fire.

Listening to Led Zeppelin IV; it takes me back to the summer of 1988 when I listened to the entire album every day, and every week I had to take it back to the library, turn it in, then the next day check it back out.

I also listened to Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" quite a bit, but that was maybe too much for my twelve year old brain to understand. Third Stone From The Sun frightened me.

*EDIT* had to, after remembering, change the dates to a year forward.

So the controller still isn't working, it isn't being recognized by the computer as a game pad, what the fuck happened to plug and play?

So, if in America a Frankfurter/sausage type thing is called a "Wiener" or a "Weener/Weenie": then would you call somebody from Vienna Wienese/Weenese? o_O

Microsoft's implementation has always been known as either 'plug-n-pray' or 'plug-n-explode.'

I think it refers to the shape.

edit: I just looked it up. and wiki says

Wiener is German for Viennese, but may also refer to:

* A German sausage named after Vienna (the name is not used in this context in Vienna)
* A sausage used in hot dogs

I didn't know that, mostly because when you here Wiener here, it is more likely to be a "Wiener dog" (dachshund)

or much more likely, a penis. :lmao: So NO calling anyone a Wiener here would be rather rude because you are calling them a penis.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. It's 1:27AM. I'm supposed to be adjusting my sleep schedule back for classes, so I should be sleeping now. Instead I thought "Oh, I'll just watch watch an episode of Holmes Inspection before sleeping." That quickly turned into a second episode, and that second episode I find out now is a two part episode. So now I have to stay up and see the conclusion. Blargh. Damn my silly television watching tendencies.

Ugh, been there.

EDIT: Excuse ancient quote, always forget how far RT can go in one weekend....

I caught a new episodes of The Simpsons tonight for the first time in a couple of years... I knew this show was way, way past its heyday but man, it actually made me sad they are still making this show.

It seems like they got desperate and/or ran out of ideas and started to stoop to the level of and borrow ideas from post-resurrection Family Guy... unnecessary fight sequences, cheap jokes that make no sense on any level, and disconnected storyline that feel recycled - basically, all the smart comedy is gone now. Just overall unfunny and reeking of desperately trying to attract the Family Guy audience... which makes no sense, because The Simpsons never had the same type of humour as Family Guy, even when Family Guy was a decently funny show.

Comedy is just not comedy these days. :(

I never really got into The Simpsons at all. Mostly because my parents didn't like it.

Time for this thread's 3500 page/70K posts maintenance, I think. I forget, is that new belts and such, or just an oil change? :p

Just oil. Finalgear is American, so it has chain driven cams which generally don't require maintenance. :p
