Random Thoughts....

^ Let's make a poll to find out if we should!

Sounds like a plan! But first we should make a poll to see if people are interested in such a poll!

I never thought we would be famous enough to team up with THQ, but here we are.

WOO!!! The new cranes for my city's new container port came in today!!! This is soooooo cool, they're massive!

My town (Prince Rupert, British Columbia Canada) is pretty small with a population ot about 15,000. This thing is awesome for the economy, as we're now the closest container port in THE WORLD to Asia.

So if they are buying larger cranes, what do they use to unload the ship?

It does remind me of the new cranes they got in Oakland last year - they cleared the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge by less than 20 feet - and that was with the tide just right.

These are the first set of cranes, the port hasn't even opened yet.

btw: i have no idea how they're planning to get them off the ship, i read in the paper that it was going to take 9 days though? weird

"Great looking cranes you got there!"

"Thanks! Now all we have to do is get them off the...oh dear! Somebody order a bigger crane, and have it shipped over land this time!"

Interesting you say that, are you sure? Are you counting Australia as a part of Asia? It isn't, so I would have said that Brisbane port was the closest to Asia, not one in BC the other side of the Pacific.

/I has a title now!!

Darwin's the closest port to Asia in the world isnt it?

Guys, isn't this kind of like trying to find the Northwest Passage to Asia? I guess they never realized that Europe and Asia were actually connected.

(I'm going to get flamed in 3..2..)

I thought it was a big port. Ships unload there and then come down by Rail to Adelaide and over to Melb/Syd.

Hmmmmmm. Either way, I think it's been established that a port in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada, is not the closest port in the world to Asia.

Case closed. I'm off.

But it is the one with the newest cranes! :p
