The worst papers in Britain lining up to kill each other? Might be fun. *Launches his Daily Mail app*

Just imagine, though. Piers Morgan getting a bed at Her Majesty's expense.. I suppose dr. Jeremy Clarkson won't be downbeat by it.

Did News Corp. Illegally Purchase Saddam Hussein Photos from U.S. Officials?

The Sun?s then-managing editor, Graham Dudman, told the Associated Press that his newspaper paid ?a small sum? for the photos. Dudman would not elaborate ?except to say it was more than 500 British pounds, which is about $900.?

Sources close to the story have told The Daily Beast that the payment was significantly greater, and was made to a U.S. official on American soil.

Hey Jack,

"Levinson Report" tomorrow from 14:00! (BBC News24 live continous coverage.)

Is that a prelim thing or what? I thought the thing would go on for months/years or have I lost track?

The press doesn't need legislative regulation, the press needs an organ organized by themselves with the contractual powers to order them to run blacked out front pages, no promotion etc. when a paper fucks up.

Combine the Norwegian and Swedish system, they work very well without any need for legal regulation.

I think its part one, all the criminal stuff has to wait until after the trials, by which time Leveson may be promoted and someone else will have to finish the reports. Lots of stuff left over and witnesses to recall....

The Leveson Inquiry into the culture, practices and ethics of the press is running in four modules. These are:
Module 1: The relationship between the press and the public and looks at phone-hacking and other potentially illegal behaviour.
Module 2: The relationships between the press and police and the extent to which that has operated in the public interest.
Module 3: The relationship between press and politicians.
Module 4: Recommendations for a more effective policy and regulation that supports the integrity and freedom of the press while encouraging the highest ethical standards.

Whatever it is, it need teeth and the press should be afraid.

Just wonderful to see all the scumbag press fanboys jumping up and down trying to impress their masters.

Not sure what the numbers in parliament are, but 45 Tories backing Leveson could be enough to swing some radical change. Gove's head will then probably explode!
