Renault 5 E-Tech - EV

It's clearly for the US market, intended to store a shotgun.
Except the shot gun would be reaching the roof nearly.

Review embargo lifts Oct 3rd

I saw one encased in glass at the Paris airport back in June. Quite sad it most likely won't make it to North America, it's a funky looking thing :3

That sounds better than I expected.
Now I want the Alpine A290 even more...

Indeed. I was sure they were gonna mess this up, but it seems to be perfectly fine and sensible, no major issues and they actually stuck with most of the concepts design. Nice.
Only downside, really: it’s a Renault :|

I don't see that as a downside, but then again I only owned FIATs...

Well… despite selling well and mostly reviewing well, the main drive/power system of the Zoe for example has quite major flaws that Renault seems to refuse to fix or issue recalls for. I’m not talking the early generation with the dodgy charger that would knock charging stations out en masse, but I know quite a few people (yes, anecdotal evidence) that have had to have major parts of their charging/drive system replaced at, frankly, ridiculous cost… parts that simply should not break. Also on the more recent cars.
Feels a bit like the old saying about Italian electronics may now be true for Renault as well, or something.
Oh well, new platform, better luck etc I guess / hope / whatever 😜
