Did you get that in writing?I simply went to ask the officials working directly at the gates about the actual facts regarding camera banning orders. - The answer I got made much more sense: In-car cameras allowed, outside ones not: If your dashcam takes sudden air time inside your car that's your problem, but you don't want the badly secured GoPro of the car infront suddenly going trough your windscreen, for example.- Satisfied with this official statement, later during my second lap I had my cam permanently mounted and all the time running behind the windscreen. No problem.
Those guys really should make up their mind. We saw several people getting denied driving onto the Ring at the entrance because of cameras over the years, and last year we got an unfriendly rebuke after leaving the track when one of the personnel saw our still-attached cameras on my windscreen.
