Ringmeet 2024 - maybe not VS, but also not bust! August 8th - 12th 2024

Update on this: can't stay until Monday, need to move the additional day off for a different vacation, so Thu-Sun it is.

OK even more updates on this: I can't take Thu and Fri off either. Again, I need the days off for something that came up that's important. So no joining up with the roadtrip group on Thursday, instead a swift and timely exit from work on Friday to make it to Ringmeet.
I'm fully committed to still pay for my spot from Thursday if that's required however. And maybe I can get some info on the process of a possibly late arrival on Friday? If there's no general info/info for the group about that I can just call the campsite myself of course.

Mostly bummed about not being able to join the Roadtrip gang - but I'm hopefully missing out for a good cause here.

Not to be a cheepskate, but my kid is under 14y, if I'm looking at the prices he's cheaper
I mean, 3 nights, that's almost half a ring lap


Also, you say that the store situation is lacking. has anyone been there before? are there no stores or bakeries or something nearby, what's the deal on that front?

Also, do we have dinner planned for Saturday as before or?
Basically, some info on what is or isn't organized? I'm guessing no cooler truck either? Not that I need cool booze, but having a fridge nearby was nice.
That said, I've not been in 5 years, things have changed a bit, so I'm clinging to the good old days.
Just wanna know what to expect, if not for me then for the kid, gotta feed him and everything. So to prepare accordingly.

Found some stores in a neighbouring town. It's the opposite direction of the ring entrance, about the same distance, so you may as well go to Adenau.

@Ivan: Frailer, Tent and BBQ are accounted for. Stores nearby, sorry, no clue, but not a great situation, definitely a driving thing. I am charging you the campsite determined fee for your offspring, I won't be charging you for bbq and beer.

@Everyone:

So I updated the list with the feedback, and this is the final list with the pricing. Hotel like last year, 60€ to either build a small buffer or account for unexpected cost like we ran into in the past. Camping - see individual total.

@MacGuffin: Since you have paid twice in the past but not attended, as promised, you are good.

So, the Ringmeet was what I would certainly call a success! The campsite was a definite improvement above the last years', so much that we've pretty much established we'll be returning there in 2025. A little drone stuff:

If someone has more footage to show off, feel free to start a proper photo thread. There was enough stuff to share - we went to the Michael Schumacher private collection to see some F1 cars, went go-karting for the first time at a Ringmeet, had some drone and flashlight shenaningans at the campsite, and ofc drove some cars around the Ring. Oh and a BMW broke, had to be towed from the Ring parking lot, and then Mikko rented an electric dirt bike while the car was spending the day at the shop and we drove it all over the campsite as well.

Huge thank you to @thomas and @93Flareside for finding the place and organising everything, @loose_unit for bringing the frailer, and everybody for being there and making it a great event as always! Looking forward to 2025 already.
