Ripping

hi, i'm new to the forums. i'm a big fan of Finalgear and i would like to be able to rip programs at this quality. i have a pinnacle LINX 2 (usb) and studio 9, but all of my rips are about 12Gb and are naff quality. are there any special codecs or ways of doing it that anyone could tell me

I don't know much about it, but you should definitely convert your rips to XviD to save space.

Maybe you should PM VUK about his methods.

What exactly does "naff quality" mean? Good or bad?
You can say, that a DVB-T stream has about 4 Mbit/sec and a DVB-S stream 6 Mbit/sec... That equals to 0,5MB per sec, and 1,8 GB per hour, 0,75 MB/sec and 2,7 GB per hour (for DVB-S), so you are way off... Try another ripping software...

sorry, naff means bad. that's what i'm doing wrong then, i don't have a tuner, i'm using a device that converts analogue to usb, and using video out on my VCR. i use it for home videos normally, but i wanted to give this a go. I'll try some other software.
