The R3 / R3X is great imho. Arguably the first crossover I can see myself own at some point, it just works. And they'll surely bring it to Europe... although not with that charge port door, no way CCS2 will fit under there.

That R3 is perfect...I really really approve of it.

*hopes it doesn't flop*

That last picture looks like a modern interpretation of a golf mk2 to me 🤣 which is a great thing, if you ask me. Nice.
Yes! Alternatively, I'm getting Niva vibes from the rear view. This is good, mmm.

R2 is still 2 years away before it even goes on sale, and I'm sure it'll start first with the higher-end models, and the R3 is after that sometime...so what are we thinking for the R3, 2028-2029?

While it was the only thing that looked like this, in MKBHD's video, there was gaffer tape on the screen in the R3, and that just gave me a bad "this is much less production-ready than the R2" vibe, but that does make sense that since it's on a shared platform, that it should come more quickly.

That said, if the R2's range is 300, the r3 can't be much lighter, without trimming the battery...so are we thinking it'll be closer to maybe 220 miles?

It does trim the battery, they've shown it in MKBHD's video - the axles are the same, but the pack in the wheelbase is shorter. Plus the body is smaller and lower for a smaller frontal area, and the slanted rear likely improves the drag coefficient compared to the R1/R2 box shape. It will have less range than the bigger brothers, but I expect 250-ish should be realistic.

This! It's an American Lada Niva, but better looking and electric. Me likey!
300 miles / +- 500 kms is plenty of range if you ask me (knowing that this will be more like 220-250 miles in reality)

There's hope that it might fit on our roads. Just.
