I've seen a doku about Japan on Arte once and they mentioned the obsession with high tech toilets. I don't remember exactly how the trend started but what I remember is this. Apparently it is considered rude in Japan to make noises on the toilet. Therefore they implemented music and much more. I'm pretty sure that it is a cultural phenomenon we don't understand.

there are several problems with this thing

1, hygenic reasons - it touches a few hundred "things" a day, and one of them is yours...
2, what if there's a electricity failure and the robot hands get stuck, and dont let go... :lol:
3, as andy mentioned what if it grabs it too hard... :lol:
4, how does it know when you are done? what if it lets loose to early? you are gonna end up peeing all over the place ...

By the way, research has shown that you can find urine traces of several men on the nuts in a nutbowl (like in pubs and bars and so).

I never eat nuts anymore.
