Rocket Robin Challenge

It's impossible to land, I just end up ploughing into the field at a million MPH and then explode into a fireball.

AM, it's actually easy to land if you let it fall backwards, tail down, for a while, then when you think you're getting close to the ground before it zooms in, rotate the Robin so the nose is barely above horizontal. You should try to face whichever direction, left or right, it looks like you're going in more. If you do it right you get a nice bounce and rotation and your little Reliant will make it home in one piece. I think it always helps to launch when there's no wind in the wind sock.

I can hit about 4500 alt, but I can't land it ever. Only once and I think it was purely an accident. Addictive game, though.

<sarcasm> Oh man, am I pro. </sarcasm>

EDIT: I love the Photoshop grass, too.

I can't see why you guys are having such problem with the landing. It has been a cinch for me. Like f1freak has said, just try to imagine you're landing a plane and use your arrow keys to level out the orbiter so that the base is parallel to the ground.

just managed my highest ever. :)

i was lucky the right thruster had a bit more power, that corrected the wind and i didn't need to steer -at all- until the landing.
i might have waited a bit longer before getting rid of the fuel tank, but i didn't want to risk blowing up :p

i never knew you could control direction in midair o_O but now i can get 4500 quite often =b

and the sausage tank, i'd say yes... not as good in direction change as the boosters, but it works... if you want to tilt left, press left, tilt right, press right... but you have to be sure to be VERY straight... i find it's easier to use the big orange tank to control than the boosters so i usually just throw the boosters away

it is VERY addicting

Can't get much higher then this one... >_<

I still can't land. I did the whole butt first and nose down thing. I got 4200 last time, but couldn't land it. I don't know how much the landing bonus is worth though.

You got the ass down part but it's not nose down after that, it's nose level (or just above) before landing. Here, this should help some people.

Stay pointing straight up as you start to fall.

When you feel you're getting close to the ground, level out.

You should get a nice bounce...

...and survive. Mostly.

Now all we need to do is figure out how the hell someone is getting past 5000. I've still only barely gotten into the 4700s.

My best score with a perfect launch (i.e. no wind, Right SRB just above left):

Hey

For my best, I don't make effort to get the booster level on green. I just wait for 2 sec before start, then power to the max (they thus are perfectly the same for left and right).
So i'm loosing a bit a power time but don"t know is it's really useful to get the green thing. Every time I tried to put the thrust in green level I had smaller altitude in the end.

like you, don"t understand how to get 5000. Maybe there is a lot to win, with the main booster (sausage). maybe we need to go to the extreme limit before explosion. <_<
