Since there have been quite a few debates about Justin's sig I'd like to know how everyone feels about it.

I'm not asking if you like Justin's sig or not, just if you think there should be room for political notes outside the Political Section.

My opinion:
This is a carforum, we're here to talk mostly about cars, and that's the main reason why we've come here. I think that Political notes should be left in the Political Section and not all over the board.
 
He can put whatever he wants in his sig as long as Viper is O.K. with it. Justin decided to put Bush in his sig to piss us off. I couldn't even care less. I don't even block his sig like some people do. I just think he did himself no favor with the sig, the negativity displayed there just gets spread into other sections of the board.

We all have our opinions but Justins in-your-face method might scare people away from him. At least the ones that are new to the board. Excluding sympathizers off course.
 
So if you had a car I don't like in your sig, can I make a poll that's binding on you to remove it?

Look at Bigfoots temp. sig, what if we ALL had political sigs..Bush sigs and Anti-Bush sigs...how fun would this place be..
 
It would be no fun at all. Lots of bickering...probably too much in the end.
 
Theres alreadt enough bickering about my sig.

Ppl complained when I had cars because it was too big.

Then Viper changed the rules and I change my sig to adapt to the rules. It was after the election I was really happy that Bush won so i had some Bush pics then it changed to the one it is now and has been that way.

No problems arose and we have diff of opinion here and some ignorant opinions like Josty saying
I don't mind you loving Bush so much you want to marry him, but the sig needs to go.

So as it seems the sig is causing some trouble, mainly with, surprise surprise, freedom loving censorship Euros.

Im done. No one has really deabated properly, atleast Kipp6666 admitted that Bush has done some good but other than that most of the Euros here only know how to call Bush "stupid" in so many ways. They can't stand that he is doing well so they attack my sig. Annoying, well is it really? How can you ppl say you are progressive and more liberal when you want to censor me in this REDICULOUS way.

But, I respect the institution we have here, a democratic one atleast and as the poll stands, my sig should go.

so you guys go what you want.

I think it's wrong that he should feel like he has to remove his sig. People should have the freedom to express themselves as long as it's not porn or something that could offend others. That's my opinion....
 
I'm astonished to see that you guys feel that way. I think that he should do whatever he likes. The consequences will be on a personal level.

Maybe you should be a bit more careful with the word "ignorant" and next time watch who you're quoting.
 
And Justin, are you implying with your sig that we are racist?

Cause that would get me pissed..you don't call me a racist.

as far as the poll goes, it looks pretty much 50/50 at the moment. I personnaly don't see why this is a big deal.....

To me, a sig is like a t-shirt. A forum is like a gathering place where peolpe hang out. Why would we tell someone they can't wear a political t-shirt if they want to come in? That's kind of, well.....it doesn't seem quite right.
 
No. We made this section to keep this clean on the rest of the forum.. and like you said, it's a car forum, not a political forum

However, I don't think Justin's sig has to be voted democratically :roll:
 
If you mean my poll, it wasn't directly aimed at Justin, so it's not about his sig, just in gerneral..like I said in that first post of mine.

I think you are being slightly unfair and insulting to many of the European members of the forum. Try reading through this thread: http://forum.finalgear.com/viewtopic.php?t=3458. Let's move the political debates over to German and see how well you do, okay? :x

And about your sig - I have absolutely no problem with it (simply because I do not care), but I would imagine the bulk of people's reactions to your sig is because of your attitude. You can be a very miserable person to discuss political things with at times.

If you were civil and took things a bit slower you may actually get some more interesting political debates. The amount of times you've jumped to conclusions about things I've said is frankly annoying. Also, everyone knows how difficult it is to have a productive political discussion with someone who comes off as being fanatical and blindly entrenched in an ideology (I am not saying you are like this, but you often do come across as being this way on the forum).
 
Well put Zenon. I agree - your sig is annoying, but I really don't care. Keep it if you want. But you ARE a bit miserable at times. It's been a while since I've seen a post by you in which you were getting along with other members here - you seem to only know how to argue. You need to lighten up a bit. :|
 
I think Justin should keep his sig if he wants to, but I think it's dumb to remove your sig yourself and cry censorship. If you didn't want people to complain then why was the elephant pissing on the liberals? Or are you overracting to try to stop people from voicing their opinion about your sig, an indirect form of censorship?

hehe :lol: , I disagree with Justin on most of his views, but I still respect his opinion as he is obviously a smart individual with a well constructed point of view. There is no way I think he should censor anything to do with his profile or what he believes.

If anything it's nice to have a genuine devil advocate

(sorry Justin for talking about you in the 3rd)
