Rudskogen is one of the racetracks in norway.. its not the best .. but it is the most popular..
the track is so popular for 2 resons..
twice a year there is a huge festival there .. calld "Gatebil" (Roadcar)
its scandinavias largest trackmeet, a few hundred cars (mostly hondas with identical bodykits) and a few thousend people..
the event that brings inn the most people in on sunday (event is on friday, saturday and sunday) its calls "Breisladden" it takes plase in a corner of the track calld "Breisladdsvingen" the gole is to powerslide your way throug the entire turn.. (almost a full circal)
infact "cosworth" on this forum has a avatar from that event..

well.. now the track is getting a makeover..
Infact.. Michael Schumacher invested in the track (he now own 5% of it)
the new track is design by Tilke.. the dude that has design most new F1 tracks
the track will not become a F1 track .. but is going to become a F1 test track..
the big problem is that they are destroing "Breisladdsvingen"
but the track is going from 1,9km to 4,5Km

Here is a picture of how it will look

Well, the new track looks cool and all, but I think it would've been better to have left that corner in...

It look cooool,and huuuge :) . But that corner is a need :cry:

And heres an update for thoses 3 people in the world that cares..
The goverment has now desided that Rudskogen is going to get the funding for the rebuilding..
so it is now the new "National motorsport senter"
And they say its approved for F1 .. but if it is .. then its the chepest F1 approved track in the world :p
(not that there will ever be a F1 race there.. but still)

This is how it will look..

that one section at the top looks like a bunch of crop circles

looks good, I am very surprised that anything motorsport related has gotten public funding in norway, especially considering the current government...

What type of races will they host (apart from national stuff)? afaik the only "international" race hosted in norway is the stcc in mo i rana

The current government is the most motorsport friendly goverment norway has ever had..
they not only gives alot of money to this procekt but they also payd for Rally Norway..
a test rally for WRC..
(if it becomes a WRC rally it will be the week after Rally sweden and the second Snow rally. something WRC needs.. )

that one section at the top is a testing/training area..
(with skidpads and so on..)

Redline = Currant track
Blueline= New Track

(yes.. i did it freehand .. so the straight is so ... straight :p)

Wow, the new track seems good. Got a profile for the track (thinking "ups and downs")?

The series of esses and a few bends forward (if you run the new track clockwise, that is) bear a really huge resemblance to Suzuka. Tilke has become a bit boring, to be honest. A part of the track even looks like it was taken straight from Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
