Running a dealership - How hard can it be.

players will be able to test their industry knowledge against friends and peers by setting up, or joining groups within the Fantasy Showroom game. At the end of the game, which will run through August, the player with the most points will win bragging rights to claim they knew the automotive industry best.

I'm screwed. I picked cars I like.

This would've been so much better if you started with a really small budget, being able to buy OLD used cars (a.k.a. beaters), fix them up and then try to sell them.

The selling would work on the same principle as here - based on actual used car sales statistics.

In its current form, this appears to be a really slow game. You pick your cars and then wait till the end of the month to see if they sell or not.

That's more being a collector, though, not a dealership.

This is based off of how much of what you stock you would sell in a month.

But yeah, really slow game. Not terribly interested about a fantasy league game that's four times slower than fantasy football.

It's basically a marketing analysis by the car industry to see which cars are liked by us. The end.

Still...$2 million. Where is the challenge in that?

It reminds me of an old scene from The IT Crowd: "When I first started this company, I had just two things: a dream...and six million pounds."
:D

I've signed on as MassiveMotors, with a fairly safe collection of cars:

Compact/Coupe: Ford Focus
Convertible: Chevy Corvette
Hybrid: Ford Escape
Luxury: Cadillac SRX
Sedan: BMW 3-series
Sport: BMW M3
SUV: Ford Explorer
Truck: Chevy Colorado
Van: Honda Odyssey
Wagon: Subaru Outback

Be interesting to see how this goes.

How is the Jetta Sedan a "wagon" and there's no Mazda 3?

I think a lot of waiting is required for much to happen.

Compact: Mazda 3
Convertible: Mustang
Hybrid: Fushion
Luxury: E Class
Sedan: BMW 3 Series
Sport: Mini Cooper (laughs, I know I know...)
SUV: BMW X5 (Would have gone with the Lexus, but...well...)
Truck: Ford F-Series
Van: Chrysler Town & Country
Wagon: Ford Flex (I had the Subaru WRX, but its low score made me nervous)

edit: Note: my "showroom" selections do not necessarily represent my thoughts or opinions on what I would actually want to own. :p
