Russia and Ukraine

Remarkable drone attack on Pskov air base, 850km from Ukraine. Maybe 20 drones on target. Potentially 22 aircraft at the base. Confirmed four Ilyushin Il-76 damaged.

Ironically Pskov airbase is named after Olga of Kiev

Smoking accidents at a number of other locations across Russia.

Four warehouses at Moscow train station on fire.

10 EOS Slinger anti drone systems on the way to Ukraine. Uses a similar gun to the Apache gunship. Tries to hit drone with one shot, at worst a couple. Kills drones up 2km away, detects them about them about 10km away. Mounts on pickups, IFVs, MRAPs etc.

EOS are also working on laser anti drone systems and smaller calibre Slinger systems.

I don't know who's idea it was but I think its pure genius. Nothing strokes American egos like business dominance and burgers. Sure it's fries and cherry pie but... it's a powerful symbol of how Ukraine is working. Moscow doesn't have McDonald's. Guc¢i is not Gucci.

Let me make sure I understand, Ukraine, a nation without a navy, just sank a Russian submarine that was on dry land.

So the Moskva got promoted to "reef" and the sub got promoted to T-72? You know there's a Ukrainian farmer putting a tow bar on his tractor right now, just waiting to steal that sub.

Russian strategy relies heavily on artillery.

Now they are running out of barrels and ammunition, but can't make enough to meet demand.

Don't have the heavy metal needed.

For which they don't have a backup plan

That's why Putin met with Lil' Kim. N. Korea has the biggest stockpile of well maintained Russian caliber shells in the world.

The numbers from the New York Times: Russia can produce about 2 million shells per year, but are firing at a rate of 10 million per year. Their stockpiles have not been maintained properly, so much of their reserve stock is not usable or duds. You have to do maintenance on your shells or they degrade. Russia has never had the money and is too corrupt to have those maintenance tasks happen.
