S14E01 PS3 Size Problem

So, I would very much appreciate it if you (or anybody, really) could test if ftp does indeed work with the PS3.

As for the speed issues: my config is a WinXP box, using GbE to a router (dlink) through wifi to the PS3 which is on a different floor than the router. IIRC speeds I got were about 1000KB/s or so.

I'll do that when I get home, providing I don't pass out sleeping first. As for the router connected by GbE, I would still expect speeds much higher then what your getting, I am wondering if your not being slowed down to 10/100 by a device on your network, as I got speeds 12 times faster then that and I'm pretty sure it could be even faster if the program would get out of it's way.

Dygear, I did mention it going through WiFi.

I just had a thought. Your GbE performance bottleneck could be due to the HDD both on your laptop and on the PS3. IIRC the PS3 has a 2.5" laptop HDD.

EDIT: Scratch that. I dunno what I was thinking so early in the morning. HDD performance, even for 2.5" Laptop models are normally > than 12MB/s that you stated. According to this site, the slowest performance is about 2x.
