Check this new Saab 9-2x! What the f*ck were they thinking with that airscoopy thing on the bonnet...And check that side-view...that's a subaru wrx stationwagon! It will be produced in the US first. Even the ignitionswitch is now next to the steeringwheel!
Just hopeless

Looks like a Legacy or something from behind, and that huge intake under the grill looks malplaced...

Both Saab and Subaru are owned by General Motors, and have recently started working together on some shared platform cars. This Subaru Legacy\Saab 9-2x is one of the first shared platform vehicles, but they do have plans for more. Some motor-journalists have started calling these shared platform cars Saabarus.

Even though Saab has had a lot of money thrown at them by GM, they are still losing a lot of money - this will probably help offset production costs by quite a bit. The P1 platform (Focus, Mazda3, Volvo S40\V50) has saved Ford a lot of money, so it's probably looking quite attractive to GM at the moment.

Just be happy that it is Subaru's styling that is influencing Saab, not the other way around. :p

Uhhh? where are you cming from? that's old news!

and yes it is a WRX rebodied. It's dumb, it's not a real Saab, it doesn't have the ignition on the floor :?

I don't think it's an ugly car, besides that airintake on the hood, that's not "Saab".
It's all about saving money, only the headlights and the grill are "Saab", i mean come on, is it THAT important to save so much money?
It made this Saab more beautiful but in the wrong way...in my opinion

The interior isn't Saabish... it doesn't deserve to wear the Saab badge just like the 9-7x which is a souped up Envoy

Are you actually serious? I can not even fathom how someone could like Saab styling more than Subaru styling... to me that is absolutely ludicrous. :?

Edit: I understand why people don't like shared platform vehicles, but Saab has been losing a lot of money for a very long time. Their sales have suffered for years (in North America especailly), so the fact that they have moved to shared platform vehicles is actually a really good thing - it will end up keeping them around for a lot longer. If they are able to establish a few shared platform cars that have low production costs and sell decently they would be able to move away from using shared platforms again.

Does it really have the boxer engine too? That makes it a little bit less bad :p

They are the same car, right down to the interior. Saab just uses better quality leather as far as I can tell.

Makes me wonder how many people are really going to buy this Saab 9-2.

Yeah they'll lose a lot of "old" buyers, and I don't think they can compensate that with "young" buyers, if I want a WRX I would NEVER buy that saab, those are two very different type of cars

Wow, that was a rapid succession of odd posts. :?

I'll play dumb though, and ask you who this Ovlov company is that you speak of and why their styling is so bad...
