Sacr? Bleu! Top Gear Fran?aise!!!

The French are quite good at non-sophisticated comedy. Most of them like simple practical cars, maybe a down-to-earth Fifth Gear-ish style?... I think it might be ok.
It will definitely suck if they slip into french mode, though...

Wonder will they use the Allo Allo script writers....

Damn trailer is geoxxxxxxx

RMC D?couverte already has what feels like a couple of hours a day of Top Gear, Us Top Gear and related Richard Hammond and James May Programms ... (not complaing, just saying)

But hey ... bring it on ... I?ll watch it ... so far I?ve only found one other Tv- Car-show (that isn?t all about motorsport - wich I couldn?t care less about) here, that leaves plenty room for TGFR ...

Turbo is the least sucky car show in France (well, it was when I left anyway) and it's still painful to watch. I hope they'll do a good job of it, but I'm not holding my breath after having heard Johny Halliday at the end of the trailer...

Is there really a need for a french Top Gear when there is already a Europe-based version of the show?

Why not just learn english?

Could be great if they get the cast right

Well, they won't need those "lets buy a car for 100 euro, do a trip and just film what happens" specials. New Peugeots, Renaults and Citroens already fall apart when they leave the showroom.

They could take 3 super cars and drive to Britain to see which one is best.

Worse still we should prepare for an influx of surrender monkeys who can't pronounce the letter H......

I jest. Bienvenue, mes amis.

Half the show will be filled with muttering about how foreign cars have their gearboxes fitted backwards.

"damnit, this one as well!"

It actually doesn?t look and sound that bad ... and since moving here I have to say that the french aren?t that bad at being actually funny on TV. Well, compared to germany anyway ... which isn?t hard to begin with, but still ...

Looks like top quality filming, like they lent the production team from TGUK. We'll see how the events/scripts/etc go.

I don't think rips will be an issue in socialist France... but I could be wrong!
