Show us your Lego!

And for those who are interested, here are some build pics and detailed shots of the Mouldking Monarch Star Destroyer. It has almost 12,000 pieces and weighs 10.4 kilograms. Took me two weeks to put together.

Twelve friggin' thousand pieces in a commercially available set? That has to be one of the biggest sets ever...

Oh, and look at the colours - there aren't any besides grey, black and red (but just so you have orientation for the connection points), unlike the LEGO sets which are often so gaudy on the inside those blue, red or yellow bricks are shining through the inevitable gaps of the sea of grey...

The best part is: I paid 280 Euros for it. The Lego model with not even 5,000 parts costs 700 Euros. And Mouldking is known to have the best brick quality at the moment. It's a no-brainer.

But but but won’t you please think of the little Danish elves who lovingly handcraft every single piece of LEGO(tm)(r)(c) so that you can build with the best bricks in the world? ?

And of their army of poor and destitute lawyers who just want to make a living? ?

The Danish elfs should fire their accountants and go back to their strengths instead of striving to make as much profit as possible with as little effort as possible. That they still have the ability to do so can be seen in models like the Mustang, the Saturn V or the Ecto-1, but the Lego designers are obviously just not allowed to do it the way they want to.

The latest model I built, was this small fellow ;-)

Hasn't got motors, but it has 4WD nevertheless, including two differentials, a realistic V8 motor, a gearbox with two gears, suspension, and a "hand of God" steering. Funny side note. The axles for the "hand of God" steering are not made of plastic, but actual carbon fiber.

I pimped my Mini...

Found an online shop that offers Lego print bundles for several models to replace the stickers. Mini is one of them, and they also threw in a printed Union Jack for the roof :)

Oh... and I also put some chrome bumpers on it for good measure :)

It's a Union FLAG!

The term Union Jack technically only applies if flown on a Royal or Merchant Navy ship or boat*.

*Boat because submarines are boats not ships.

Okay... so I've just finished building this.

I've had the Saturn V before but wanted to have the proper launch tower. So, I bought a MOC. And oh boy, that was tiresome and frustrating to build. I made it with my mind and my nerves intact, but you really need a strong will to live. Obviously this was designed on a computer and the designer never bothered to test-build his creation.

I managed to get it finished - with some tricks and additional parts I had in store. And I also had to resort to glue some parts together because there is no sturdy base for it to rest on. The only stiff structure is the elevator shaft, and it tends to bend forward due to the weight of the attached arms and the crane.

The end result looks fantastic. But if you're thinking of getting one too, think twice if you can handle that much pain ;)

That is, apparently, debatable: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack#Terminology
(Not meaning to be pedantic. I was actually curious about the terminology and googled it.)

Obviously not mine, but holy shit - someone took a micro screen including controller and put it into a 2x2 slope (3D printed a housing, inserted screen and controller and poured resin into it)... :-o
