Some Junkyard sightings

Depending on how badly rusted the Opel GT is, it might be a worthy project. The body seems to be largely intact apart from what looks like a minor front impact to me... the cars are quite rare (around 100000 sold worldwide) because of the body and only the body - below the metal it's all 70s GM parts bin crap, which means that large portions of the inner workings of the car were used until the late 80s or are compatible to stuff used then.

It's basically a Kadett underneath - a Kadett B, which is what the GM T Platform was developed from (to be honest, it is 99% identical to the Kadett C, which is the german incarnation of the T Platform) - this means most Chevy Chevette parts can at least be made to fit (metric vs. imperial screws will be a major problem here).

The GT was still there when I was there today. If it's still there when I get some disposable income, I'll liberate it.

A couple more spots from today's trip:

Some Wank and some African Warlord action, sitting together in the very far back corner of the lot.

Surprisingly the FC looks so much cleaner than most running ones.

You'd hate to see my FC parts car. It is almost as bad (maybe even worse as it has no engine).

Chevy Van, ex-ambulance/fire truck.

Moskvich (or IZH to be exact) pick up.

Bumping an old thread, hope you don't mind.

Old Skoda S110R Coup? at the same scrapyard where I found my Sunny Coup? a few years ago.

I think all the missing parts were inside the car, at least rear bumper and rear wall were there. It has been waiting for it's destiny in front of a farm house nearby, now I spotted it here.

End of the line. Old bus hiding in the woods. The middle section was collapsed, I think that wooden frame gave up under the pressure of snow.

I've got a handful of pics from my last couple trips to a local junkyard. They get a lot of classics and oddball stuff, I'll take more pics next time I'm there.

'71ish Impala and an early '50s Chevy sedan

'70 Delta 88 coupe, surprisingly straight and mostly rust free. 455/TH400 still there. My dad was with me and this pissed him off for the rest of the day.

'63 Impala that had at least been picked pretty clean.

Possibly the oddest thing I've seen there; a Renault Dauphine. Looked very much like it had been sitting in a field for 30 years. Even had a big spool of bailing wire in the trunk.

Saw some cool stuff at the junkyard today.

First, A 70s (I presume) Toyota Corolla. I've never seen one as a hatch.

I thought all the CEs were black. That's one thorough yellow paint job.

CEs were black. Thats a SE. 1991 model painted in Monte Carlo Yellow. Only 300 made. Hence the

It doesn't take much to junk a first-gen Audi A8 these days.

Seriously, I can't tell what's broken; probably something electrical.
