Hi, Im completely new to this. I downloaded an episode of 5th Gear, and I downloaded XviD, but I connot figure out how to watch the episode. Under Program Files>XviD, it gives me a bunch of options, but I cant find one to simply view the file. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks a lot, Brownie.

DivX maybe ??

Ok, Ive got that now, but when I try to open the file (Fifth Gear - [07x03] - 2005.04.04.avi), it says "Please check that it is a valid AVI or MPEG-4 file". When I look at the file through Windows Explorer, it says it is a Torrent file. What do I do?

You should be able to use windows media player to play the file. The best way is to double click on the 5th Gear episode and let the system use your default player. XviD is a plugin for other media players, so it does not come packaged with its own player.

If it is a torrent file then you still need to download Fifth Gear by using torrent software to download it from us.

The software that I use is ABC (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/)

Once downloaded you should be able to play it in windows media player, since you already have the codecs.

OK, if you're not showing file extensions (default in Windows XP), the file name showing will be Fifth Gear - [07x03] - 2005.04.04.avi while the actual name is Fifth Gear - [07x03] - 2005.04.04.avi.torrent.

Could that be it? :)

Check the filesize, should be 175MB, and not a few KB... it's a torrent, you need to install BitTorrent from www.bittorrent.com to download it before you can view the video.

Great, thanks a lot for the help

*Edit* Yeah, fnorre, I missed that. Im using that ABC now.
