My Dad finally decided to get a new car. After I was unable to convince him to get a Ferrari 360, which I worked at for about 3 weeks, he now ordered a Maserati Grand Sport. This choice comes solely on the basis that it has the correct features, including the F1 gear box, which the 360 wasn't available with. Not the car I would have gone for, but it is better than the XKR Convertible he had before. Especially in the sound category.

I'll post some pics once it has arrived and I am back in Germany.

Lucky Bastard. I want the Maserati Grand Sport. Then again, I'd also like the money to affoard such cars....

Schumacher, Barichello, and Bodoer all drive GS's.

damn, the 360 would've cost a lot more as well. The Gransport is a very good choice.

Er... why no F1 in a 360? he needs to shop more, I'm sure more than 50% of 360's have it.

im sure that there are other reasons as well. one may not have been in his price range that had an F1 gearbox. ;)

well, the 360 had to be used, obviously (the one i was really pushing had 9k km and was from 03). 360's aren't built anymore and a 430 is about 2xgs worth. also, the ferrari had to be a black coupe with an f1, and there simply aren't any of those in central europe. no joke. I'm not saying the maserti is a bad car, but just saying "i have a ferrari in my garage" or "i have a maserati in my garage", makes the choice simple for me. but hey, as long as i get to have a go on the autobahn once in a while, i'll be happy.

the sound of the Maserati coupe is awesome, I guess the GS is even better.

BTW the lack of info in your profile got me to think you were in USA, explaining why I thought F1's would be very common.

i'm actually in halifax, NS, but why would you want a car like that over here?

Are there a lot of Ferarris and Maseratis in Nova Scotia?

And this is exactly why I don't like Ferrari owners, and partly Ferrari as a car manufacturer as well. :)

A father of a friend of mine has a 360 Spyder. He let me drive it one time. Sadly, that is probably the only time I will ever see or drive a car like that :( :( :(

now you say so, i don't think i've ever seen a black 360 in real life. they're all red or yellow

and i'd also prefer a maseerati over a ferarri

The problem with Ferrari's (especially 360's) in Germany is that everyone wants them in red, if it is in another colour the 2nd hand price is a lot lower. Therefore almost all 360's are red, simply because there are fewer ones in other colours and the owners dont want to sell them for the price they could get. So there are basically none for sale.

well that's exatly the point. it had to be black, as silver is just dull, yellow is, well, digusting, and the ferrari red quite literally slaps you in the face. now those aren't understated cars, my dad said that whenever he pushed on the throttle everyone in a mile's radius looked at him. But it just doesn't seem as much of a midlife-crisis kinda car in black. but hey, i'll see what it's like on dec. 16., once he picks me up from the airport.

Check some black ones in here. Almost all from Germany, and a lot with F1 boxes.

A guy in my town owns a black 360... and a black 430... and a black Gallardo... and a black Flying Spur

... Rich unimaginative bastard.
