I've always been interested in photography and after forming a bit of a reputation with Forza 2's photo-mode, it got me into the real life stuff. - So my past experience is basically twiddling sticks and flying around freely in a video game. :)

Tips are very much welcome and appreciated, for anyone interested I'm using an Olympus E-410 - still a newby to RAW files, etc.

Used Flickr for minor editing - Full versions available by request.

Some excellent shots there, particularly the sunset shot with the boats. IMO, the car pics arent as interesting, aside from the first shot which is fantastic. I think you definitely have the skill to make interesting pics, and judging by the none-car stuff you have the eye too.

For a self-proclaimed beginner, bloody brilliant though. :)

Thanks Nocturnal. The car shots aren't that flash since they were only shot in our driveway, getting full scale shots which are worthwhile is a bit of a bummer for me.

I'll keep posting up my best new stuff as I take it, along with a few randoms.

Wow, thank-you all for your kind words, very much appreciated! :)

Here's the massive version of the first BMW shot, enjoy!
(Some Photoshop has been used already, eg, selective colour but with a little more love it could be even better)

*edit*

PhyreFile doesn't seem to be working for me, I'll get the big version up as soon as I can. - Anyone know where I can upload images for free with no size restrictions?

Anyone know if you have to have Flickr Pro to maintain upload resolutions?

^ If you click on the 'All Sizes' button above the picture, you get to the full size ones. A Flickr Pro account gives you the ability to have more than 3 sets, and upload more than 200 photos. I'm going to have to upgrade soon enough :(

Been wanting to go pro for a while - gone over my image limit about 3 times over by now. I can go to the all sizes menu but it still doesn't seem to let me keep it over 1280 x 1024 once its uploaded - I may have to change a setting or something as far as upload options. Thanks anyway.

Thanks all.

Paraca - I'm no pro, not by a very long shot so there's only so much I can say. Just keep practicing and finding what makes a good photo. I learned heaps from just taking pictures of ordinary things and just showing them in a way that we don't usually look at things, well that's my 'style' I guess! :)

Alot of what makes a good photo though (For me at least) is what happens after you've taken it, I use quite a bit of editing using curves to get my pictures to look how I want them to (Unless you had good composition and lighting to start with, such as those sunset ones.)

Anyway, just play around until you find a style that suits you.

So I guess practice really makes perfect. :D

The wallpaper versions - used Olympus Master for editing since the shown versions were edited in Flickr. What that means is I couldn't use selective colour - feel free to edit that in Photoshop if you feel like it. The dash one doesn't look quite so good big'ified but the other turned out fine. If you want a widescreen version let me know.

(They needed to be resized since imageshack didn't want to play along with the idea of 2mb images)

..looks much better big.

And a little extra - only cropped :)

Needs a caption I think...

The darker pictures were edited to look best big, shrunken down with flickr the contrast has just gone kinda blotchy. :(

Another bunch of driveway shots, so the usual 'staples' equivalent of composition.

The other's didn't turn out quite so great thanks to the slightly less appealing reflections of a garage door : )
