The CLS63 & CLK63 should be available by the end of 2006. The E63 is also due however it'll come after the entire E-Class range gets its "half-life" facelift. I guess we know what it'll look like - Those 65' style air-vents on the front splitter.

The changes for the CLK & CLS63 AMG's over their predecessor's will include:
  • A new and more efficient cooling system
    Mercs new 7-speed auto
Obviously, the new 510BHP BMW M eating engine!
New bumpers (however there is concern that stupid MBUSA won't have the new bumpers on the new cars..)
Revised suspension and Airmatic programming along with minor changes to SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control)
"More throaty and free flowing exhaust" - Sorry, can't elaborate on that..

Expect to see these things released very soon hopefully!!

Obviously, the new 510BHP BMW M eating engine! ???????
BMW engine on a merc? :?

no, the "bmw M eating"-engine

i also had to read a few times before i understood

jajaja thanks yeah... kind of confusing for non-native english speakers

I don't understand...what's the diff between the CLS55 and the CLS63? Is it just the NA engine and gearbox?

one is 5.5 liter supercharged second is 6.3 liter .. turbocharged? or bi-turbocharged.. not sure.

The CLS 63 most definitely will be measured by the M5 - and I'm not totally convinced yet that the CLS 63 will eat the M5 :p

WHOAMG, since the 6.3 is only naturally aspirated, that means the CLK will get 510hp as well? Because right now they got the 5.5 litre without the supercharger so it's only about 362hp or thereabouts.

it will in a straight line, im pretty sure of it. if you watch the Best Motoring with the two, the M5 is barely quicker on the straights but is much better in the corners. the new CLS will be quicker than the current, so it will be quicker than the M5 or atleast the same as it.

It's shown driving around the N?rburgring, and that's where the comparison gets exciting ;)

Yep, CLS will definatly be more quicker. 3 BHP more but crucially it has 110NM more torque. Also its got simplicity - No pressing buttons and so on. Just get in and drive the bitch.

But the Bimmer will still be king of the corners seeing as its newly developed.

Oh and sorry about the whole "M-eating" confusion I caused

No need to make a new thread for the E63AMG. I found some spy-photos of that:
