Spy Shot: Kia Carens

Kia's next-generation Carens, due spring 2006, is built on the new Hyundai-Kia Accent-Rio platform, and will have a Hyundai sister model (the replacement for the current Matrix).

It promises to be sportier than the current version, with a more coupe-like rear end and more striking styling.

Kia intends to take on the likes of the Mazda5, Nissan Note/Tone and, in the US, the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix in the compact minivan sector.

Expect also a more flexible interior, with flat-folding rear seats, though it will remain a five-seater.

As well as the Maserati GranSport, Acura VTEC something, Nissan Murano, VW Phaeton... in one day... man... but that's besides the point. All of those other cars do not fit into this discussion because they're a tad more expensive than a Kia :lol:

But the Spectra5 we do get. Which is sold as the Cerato, for no particular reason than to confuse me even more.
