Vauxhall Antara: The Antara ? long overdue replacement for the Frontera ? will go on sale later this year.
Crossover: Developed for Vauxhall/Opel by GM Daewoo (its sister model will be badged as a Chevrolet in Europe, though retaining the Daewoo badge in Korea), it has a crossover-style feel rather than being an out-and-out mudplugger.
Engine: It is to come with the latest version of the GM-Daewoo 1.9-litre diesel engine, giving over 210bhp in twin-turbo form, plus a choice of petrol units.
Show car: The Antara GTC show car was fitted with a full-length panoramic glass sunroof and a ?pantograph? rear tailgate, which opens upwards and outwards over the roof. Though we can't see the tailgate clearly in these photos, it looks as if this will be more conventional in the production car, however.
Interior: These pics do give a clear view of the Antara's cabin: it may not be particularly imaginative, but it does look neat and modern.
