"We've already seen the CLS500, and the CLS55, but the hottest version of the sleek CLS won't stay secret for long, now that we've caught the 600-plus horsepower CLS65. The huge wheels and unique vents make this CLS stand out from all the other versions.

The CLS65 should make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this coming fall, and we're expecting it to be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12. " (thecarconnection.com)

Hmm ... how did they tell that it's a CLS65 from the outside?
But anyway, should be a pretty fun car.

But would still prefer the SL65 over it though ...
If one will ever exist. Otherwise SL55 is still alright

Its bumpers and rims you can say its 65 series. Actually these rims they also offer in 55 series, but bumpers mainly. And anyways, AMG is not to show, its to experience.

And what do you mean "if one will ever exist"? SL65, Cl65 and S-65 are already there

I wasnt impressed with this thing. Of course havent driven in one, but I sat in it at the NY Autoshow and its really crapped in the back.

I understand its a coupe but having the 4 doors are really not necessary as it is easy to get in and out but I was more comfortable in the back of a CLK cab which I sat in. I sat in all the Benz coupes and the best obviously is the CL. It's like a coupe with sedan space but the CLS was just too cramped compared to other Benz coupes.

Also the price is higher than an E-Class which I dont understand. Id rather have an E65 than a CLS65, why dont they make that?

Now that I think about it, I have a license, why not go for a test drive? lol

Well they want to stress more on CLS because its next generation Mercedes if you know what i mean. You see single glass concept for head lamps? All next generation Mercs are going to be single glass headlamps unlike two curves today. So they dont really wanna keep pampering E-class. And also other reason is, Mercedes wanted new model in their collection. And E-class is the best one to put new sister with. Its reasonable Merc price and also reasonable Merc performance. They seriously wanted to make something which is coupe and sedan at the same time. Because its their habit, of making something their competitors have never even thought in their dreams.

And they wont be making E-65 because they dont wanna make 65 series in all models. Its not good putting world's most powerful engine in whole line up. But....but they did want to put 65 in midrange Merc. And since CLS being latest and much more potential in market, its the best choice to put into. Now why 65 in midrange? Because people able to get Merc, who really adore 65 series cant really afford SL, CL or S. So a spoon with honey. Not the ladle with honey. But there is still honey.

I'm one serious AMG NUT.

i beat people buy the cls55 must be pissed off lol. i'd hate to think i got the bes of the range and find out they letting out another more pwoerful model

looks sweet

Ohh yeah this should wipe the smile off Mr. V10 M5's face

Same as new S-Class :)

LOL same!! Gimme one anyday

Speaking of bumpers & rims, I don't really like the front splitter on the SL/CL-65AMG's...those "upward rectangles" on the front corners makes the car look too beefy and it looses about 50% of its good looks  As for the rims, these are waay to CLS55...put on the SL rims 8)

BTW, here are some more pics ;)

Hehe ... sorry mate. Me live downunder. Never see no SL65 only get SL55, so me think one didn't exist.

Hey, can anyone who know whatever that language is to translate that "Erprobung..." word in the 2nd picture?

Yeah.... i like it's front and back, but from the side it's not so good for me...
the front lights are especially beutiful for me... as i couldn't stand those circles on the older models (they may have been gone for a while now - i'm not very interested in merces so...) :D

reminds me a WHOLE lot of a G35

Mercedes claims that the CLS is the first four door coupe, well, it's not. The Rover P5 was first...

And, am I the only one that finds the CLS' profile suprisingly similar to the Jaguar S-type...?

just when we thought the M5 was the shit

Hmmm, I don't think that would be the case with me. I thing the 55 has enough power already (Is power ever enough?) but above all, it has a noise to die for, something the 65 can't match...

Yup.. It seems so.. The only thing is the Merc is a little lower than the Jag
