Ownership Verified: Stevanfords 2018 Mustang GT

So a brief update. Back in april, car copped a smallish rear hit and what the repair shop and I thought would be a 4-6 week fix ended up taking 4 months due to parts delays. Thanks Covid.

In that time, I decided I was going to do this when the car came back...

Should be fun...

After all the time sitting around, you've collected some snails underneath. You should get that seen to. :p

Will be interesting to know if the position and required plumbing cause much lag, I've always wondered that with turbos that aren't in the engine bay (like the rear-mounted one on the Tom's Turbo Garage LS Tacoma).

From the research I've done and the people I've talked to, lag will be no different to an engine bay setup and the big advantage is keeping the heat out of the engine bay.

That makes sense, it isn't the 1980s and those aren't truck turbos.

I used to belong to a car club in CT where a guy had a (I think it was) Camaro V8 with a rear mounted turbo and that thing was a beast. Two of them are... well... that'll be something to behold.

A pic of the TT setup completed along with a dyno sheet. Made 503rwkw or 675rwhp on 9psi on pump 98 (equivalent to USAs 91) and by all accounts, did it quite easily. Can't wait to get it back and go for a drive now.

Smallish update, car went back into the workshop and copped a wavetrac diff, DSS driveshaft and various bmr rear end parts. Also got a pair of MTs. Just waiting on Sydney Dragway to open and for me to get some spare time to go and race the thing now.

Long overdue update, car ended up going into the 10s on pump fuel. Daily drove the car for a couple of years before deciding to do fuel system, e85 tune and CVs. Car then made 820ish whp on low boost e85 (10psi I believe). Car then made just on 900whp on higher boost e85 (15-16psi). Took it to the drags last night for the first time on e85 and pb'd.

That pass is on low boost e85. With a bit more seat time, a 9 second pass is within reach. Also, car is no lightweight, the car weighed in at 1934kgs with me, a full tank of fuel and a baby seat still in the car.

The speed is certainly there for a 9, just need to get that 60 foot down and you'd be there.
Yeah, probably just need seat time more than anything to do it.
