Stig and SLR vs. Carrera GT

Agreed.

I want to know why they haven't borrowed an Enzo from somebody (Jay Kay?) and given that a go... it's faster than the CGT in a straight line at least, don't know about the corners though.

i surely hopes the CGT beat the SLR, caus i hate it!

and i think they should do the koenigsegg overnew. the stig was drifting! no way that was the fastest lap he made. that car must be some spots higher on the list

CGT is faster less body roll etc, the clutch is a true racing clutch so it seems to be tricky getting off the line without stalling for most everyone who tested it.

think that the "koenigsegg" wouldn't be much faster around the track at all with the new stig. since both the CGT and the SLR were able to take it up to 190mph+ in the straight test, were as the koenigsegg and Zonda were only 180mph. so i doubt much difference.

Think the CGT is more of a manly car has the more sporty and muscular looks then the SLR. SLR seems a little too "Merc" like styling for me.

I think the Zonda would be very close if they retested it on a dry track. They retested the Murcielago (same conditions) and it went from 1.28 to 1.23.

AMEN to that!!! the zonda would be as fast as or faster than the C GT. the only cars faster than it, i think, are the C GT, Mac F1, and the Enzo.

It's been widly stated that though the Enzo has a higher top speed, the CGT has more downforce than the Enzo (hell, look at the rear spoiler alone). The Carrera also has slightly more rubber at the ground:

CGT
Front: 265/35 ZR 19
Rear: 335/30 ZR 20

Enzo
Front tyres 245/40 ZR 19
Rear tyres 345/35 ZR 19

10mm less in the rear, 20mm more in the front. With a weight of only 33lbs less, I'm sure the Enzo would "keep up" with the CGT. But in the end, as in F1, it would come down to tires I'm sure. Until Top Gear actually gets one for testing on the current track, it's anyones guess (and therefore, pretty poinless arguing about it all).

Paganni Zonda: 1:23.8 - 4.0 wet seconds = 1:19.8
Porsche Carrera GT: 1:19.8

First off, if you look at the episode where the Zonda and Murc are both tested, you'll see the track is about 80% dry. The hammerhead corner is wet and the Zonda still had understeer and some of the later corners. I wouldn't give it the full 4 seconds Clarkson talks about with the wet, especially since it wasn't rain, but just some water they tossed on themselves.

Also, you're forgetting one key thing about the CGT vs the Zonda, Porsche knows a bit more about making cars go fast around a track. They have MUCH more experiance (in knowing what to do and what NOT to do). This is Pagani's first try at a car. The Zonda does have less weight, but they also have almost 50 less horsepower. The suspension of the CGT is probably the best system on any super car (read up about it, as it can't be explained in anything less than 3-4 long paragraphs).

So as I stated when talking about the CGT vs the Enzo, whichever car has better tires will probably win the fastest lap. In the end though, I'm going to give it to the CGT again (personal opinion).

yeah the Zonda compares more to the Murci and Koenigsegg...

the F1, CGT and Enzo are in another class of their own and it would be interesting to see which one wins

Well...i'm surprise that the koenigsegg is slower than all the rest despite it being the most powerful. Maybe a rematch for all those super cars will be needed to really determine the winner.

They mentioned that you could set up the Koenigsegg and the GT3 to accommodate the track, I wonder if they did that or if they just took the default settings.

I'll have it out mid-Tuesday if all goes well. ;)

86% and counting, 9minutes left then 1 hour of sweet top gear..
