Unverified Ownership Street Strip Project - 1964 Mercury Comet 202 Wagon

Very cool car, what about the possibility of a massive of a massive lift for the memes?
Eh, probably not, especially for racing. Probably lower it a little at some point. There's a way to drop the front by redrilling where the front upper control arm mounts and the rear being leaf spring is an easy job too.

Yeah it's a bit of a silly idea anyways. At least dropping it is minimally invasive, those types of mods are satisfying too imo.

Step one. Ordered complete floor pans. These are for a coupe/sedan, may require some adaptation for the wagon, but some floor is better than no floor. I'll have to patch the cargo floor with something, but I thought I might just find a cheap truck bed with a good floor and just put it back there.

Also looking at engine/trans options, the best deals I am finding is late 1980s Crown Vic/Grand Marquis 302 with an AOD on Marketplace. That gives me a roller cam, overdrive and serpentine accessory belt drive. Take the EFI off (for now), slap a cheap intake, carb and HEI distributor on it and boom, drivetrain.

Impressive you can just buy floors off the shelf for a car that old. How much did they set you back?

Luckily it's one of those things where it's shared with another model (Ford Falcon). Total cost shipped, after a $40 discount, $480.
