damn.. THAT'S exactly what Subaru needs! either a coupe or a hatch with Sti power.. hell yeah.. anyways.. this is just rumors.. but it's fun to dream.

The IMPREZA WILL GO HATCHBACK from 2007!!! It will also be 4255 X 1800 X 1430mm in size with 300ps and 43.0kg torque.
They are gearing up for the new WRC rules as one could guess and are going light to compete with the likes of Ford and other hatch backs.

As always I will bring you more once I know. Cheers - Jason in Japan!

Can you imagine if Subaru made a hot hatch? :woot: Sure, that concept drawing has their new ugly front end, but still...

Who said anything about them stopping production of the Impreza WRX STi?

well it says "IMPREZA WILL GO HATCHBACK from 2007!!!"
so...i'm thinking they are gonna replace the current one with a hatch? :?

I wouldn't think they would. I'd think this would be a new model, especially since the WRX is based off the Impreza which is a sucessfull car.

they should call it wrx 206 :p

looks hot like a Subaru should, but the front end....why did they even change it?

I think Subaru built this to follow the recent trend in WRC, every seems to be switching to hatchback, I know Mitsu. is switching to a Colt for 2006 WRC if I remember

They're going in the current trend of hatchback racers in the WRC. Mitsubishi has its Colt Evolution in the works of course!

Those R1/2's are skinny as hell!

No, I meant R1 & R2. Too lazy to type it all out. :p

ahh... the R1 and R2 don't look remotely the same as the STi.... and the R1 if I'm not mistaken is a kit car, which = <1000cc
