The powertrain would be great for that, true.
The air suspension is going to be a problem, Land Rover has never managed to make one that works, especially in cold climates. Musk was touting the adaptive air suspension as if it wasn't something that's been around for over 30 years. An air take-off from the suspension is also nothing new or special.
The thing about making a "skeletal stress skin" design and blah blah blah - it's a fucking unibody. Again, nothing special about unibody construction, although he's using some novel materials in that "origami" look.
Speaking of origami: The shape of the cab is going to make rear headroom a serious problem. His whole "trucks look the same, let's make it different for the sake of difference" is idiotic. Trucks are shaped that way because that's the best shape to carry people and stuff; and that's the primary job of a truck. I'm going to be human origami trying to fit in the back seat of that thing. It's going to be perfect for a small population (pardon the pun) - Oompa Loompas, the Lollipop Guild, small children, and adults who have suffered cranial amputation.
