I wouldnt want to have a car that feels like an extension of my body, I want something that I could use daily If i wanted and not feel every peeble on the road.
What's the point of a sports car that you can't hear?

I heard $100,000. Thanks, but I'll wait for GM's Volt.
It takes off like nobody's business due to it's "100% of the torque, 100% of the time" manner of power delivery, and yet the only sound is a faint whine (about 1% of a supercharger's) and tire noise. Brilliant!

Yet it is no faster than a regular Elise. In fact until they work out the problems with the transmission it is actually quite a bit slower.
I know it is easy to get excited about this car, but if you take a look at it from a technical perspective it isn't all that great.
By "no faster than a regular Elise" do you mean top speed? Because the Tesla Roadster's 0-60 is quite a bit quicker than the Elise, and how often do you drive over 125 miles per hour?
The Tesla Roadster is awesome. I think it does what it was designed to do quite well. At this point I can't come up with the extra money, but if / when the opportunity presents itself I am interested in selling my S2000 and getting a loan to buy one.
