TGA Ratings

If TGA is taking in money for reviewing car(s), then they might me fine without awesome ratings.

They're not, that would be illegal.

Bloody hell! Hope they keep it up with the series proper. They probably should have done a UK/AUS thing to begin series one, but then hindsight is always perfect.

Something along the lines of 'you never go poor if you cater to the lowest common denominator' springs to mind. And as far as 'lowest common denominator' is concerned, Nein are experts at targeting this large (and largely undiscerning) end of the market.

I guess I'm still not over losing Waz. I'll still give it a chance. I might even warm to the new guys eventually. ;)

I don't know that the format of the show made that much difference. It's all about the promotion - how many people even knew TGA was on at a given time? Unless you're a soccer or WRC tragic (or into semi-porn foreign films), hardly anyone watches SBS, so hardly anyone sees the ads. Now, with Nine's millions of viewers watching the ads, plus the cross promotion with ACP and the magazine, even billboards and radio spots, you'd have to be in an Afghan cave to not be aware when TGA screens, let alone that it was on.

As much as I dread what Nine will do to it (and the Ashes confirmed some of my "dumbing down" fears), at least it might make enough to keep the franchise alive, and that means more Top Gear for all of us...

Good, slowly dying down. I hope Nien lose all their money and let SBS have it back so we won't have commericials every 15 seconds.

I really am bitter, aren't I?
