The problem I have with Pete’s healthcare plan is that it leaves a lot of the bureaucratic nonsense in place which is part of the pricing problems. I don’t see Bernie’s plans to go into full effect without a single compromise, but if we get even half of it that would still be better than what the current set up is. Pete’s is “you can pay into if you want to” which just means now the government is competing with insurance companies which is similar to Obama’s healthcare plan without the healthcare requirement after age 25.
The current health systems entirely won’t go away which is what some videos about these plans have claimed. I think what people don’t understand is that offering SOMETHING so that you’re not tied to whatever employer offers would be much nicer. I hate how it is now where the job is not just the job when you apply but how good the health insurance is. It makes leaving a company that much more difficult since not every company, big or small, has the same insurance.
