Flying a DC-3 is very much a hands-on job. A PNF*-hands-on-the-levers job, in fact. Those are the prop pitch levers, if I’m not mistaken.

I'm a huge fan of the DC-3. I was able to go aboard the Delta DC-3 they restored when I took a civil aviation history class back in the early 2000s. Got some great shot of that plane.

Correct.

The levers should be:

Throttle (X2), pitch (X2), mixture (X2).

Is that your picture? Did you fly on the DC3?

Pitch, throttle and mixture from left to right. PF was working the throttles, that part I recognised.

Yep. Second time on PH-PBA yesterday. Route was from EBOS towards Ghent, then to Terneuzen, then Vlissingen and back to Ostend.

Wow, jealous of you and @Blind_Io getting to fly on it.

I'm surprised that the pitch controls are on the left, but it appears you are right.

I wasn't able to fly on it, I got to walk around it at the Delta hangar and go aboard while it was on the ramp, but seats for flights were lottery based and limited to Delta employees.

So I was sitting in an airport terminal with my headphones on and their noise cancellation set to “high”. But I still heard the very noticeable hum of a turboprop aircraft. The most I was expecting was Cessna Caravans and ATRs, so this was unexpected. Turned out to be…
