They're legal in a few states as long as their scent glands have been removed.

I think that is pretty moronic attitude to keep a pet.

Why don't you just keep a tiger and have his paws and teeth removed that he can't annoy you by slicing and chewing you into little pieces?

Having paid a visit to the vets myself I have since had it on good authority it doesn't affect the taste. :p

Well most of them are chestnuts (red/ginger colour for those that don't know) ... that could explain it.
