Hence a couple of "can"s. I'm sure there is a way to make Ethanol without using the same amount of fuel to produce it, and I'm also sure there is a way to produce it without affecting food production.

I've had some Moonshine* that I am pretty sure had a higher octane rating than E85, and all it took to make was some old corn and some yeast. And a whole lotta guts to drink.

(*Moonshine is mostly just refined Ethanol)
 
Isn't ethanol the stuff that makes you go blind if you drink it? Yes, it'll get you drunk, but with consequences. :p
