The Ebay Game

It only gets about 2 yards to the gallon, so may not be that family friendly... but it was either this or a brown P71. :D

Updated my previous post! :D

I like the Beemer 750! Looks like a clean buy.

Chrome wheels FTL.

That E38 is sweeeet! It makes you realise just how ugly the current BMW lineup is. The BMW design really peaked with the E38 and E39.

Yep.....I'm still looking. That E38 is really difficult to beat, but I do have a few aces up my sleeve. I'll be posting my pick later on today....hopefully.

Damn.....and I thought this would be actually quite easy. Well it is.....if you picked an E38 BMW 7-series.....

Right, here is my car for this weeks competition. I was also going for the big exec.limo approach, but then it came to me: If I actually were a family man looking to buy a car for not much money to haul around the whole gang, what do I need. Well, an estate !!

After that it was fairly easy to narrow it down two candidates:

Ford Mondeo ST220, specifically this one (85.000km, manual gearbox, 6.499? = 8253$)

Subaru Legacy GT-B Twin Turbo, this one (79.000 miles, manual gearbox, 3,950? = 5900$)

Aaaaaand......I will be going with the Subaru Legacy GT-B Twin Turbo !! It was really difficult to decide between these two, but the Subarus 280hp + AWD vs. Fords 226hp + FWD tipped the scale in favor of the Subie, since both have manual gearboxes.

That said in real life, I probably would go with the Mondeo, since I like it as a car very much, it has only 85.000km vs. 79.000miles and the interior in the GT-B doesn't compete in the same league with the Fords. But for this weeks competition I'll be taking the GT-B.

I originally went looking for a VW Passat W8 Variant, preferrably with a manual. I did find one, but it was a sedan and had a slushbox. I also found an E39 M5, many Jag XJRs and a MB C36 AMG, also a sedan. But those all had to go, because I wanted an estate. From the ones posted here (other than my pick) I would go for the 750iL, although that Alfa 156 GTA is very tempting.

The Alfa GTA has a really high chance of winning everyone's liking! :D

The ST220 is really a lot of car to be had for peanuts, and the Subaru, though old, is really a sleeper with that twin turbo!

Great job everyone!

Only a few hours left, i've only just noticed the S8.
I'm torn between the S8 and the Bentley, the Bentley still has a day left but again i'll let it slide... it's soo cool.

The Alfa's terrible factory bodykit ruins it for me.

Any suggestions for next weeks?
