Funnel-web spiders do iindeed enjoy hiding in shoes. Fortunately we all know what to do if we are bitten, so there hasn't been a death since the Funnel-web anti-venom was invented.

Taipans however, do not imitate ties.

Land sharks are only to be found in New York. The last attack occurred in 1975.

Rush hour on the Friday night of a long weekend was not the time to break my hook turn virginity. Tram tracks, rain, strange town and a manual car I had not driven before. It was ugly.
