Ever since Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May announced that they would do a car show with Amazon, we knew it would be big. The trio recently put out a 30-second clip of what we can expect and it looked like everything we loved about the old Top Gear. While that was enough to pique everyone's interest, it looks like the gang wants to start its new Amazon Prime series with a splash. According to a report by The Sun (UK) the opening scene for The Grand Tour cost roughly $3.2 million to make.

It includes 150 vehicles, 2,000 automotive enthusiasts, stilt-walkers, acrobats, and six jet planes. In the opening scene, Clarkson, Hammond, and May speed across the Californian desert in modified Ford Mustangs that are finished in America's colors ? the good old red, white, and blue. Clarkson recently posted a picture on Twitter, which could be a sneak peek at the cars that were involved in the opening scene.

According to the report, the 150 vehicles following closely behind the trio's Mustangs included a Rolls-Royce and Bugatti Veyron and have a total estimated value of roughly $25 million. If the crew continues to spend $3.2 million on each episode, the total for one season would come out $38.4 million.

The Grand Tour will begin on November 18th as an Amazon Prime exclusive with a new show airing every Friday for 12 weeks. Clarkson, Hammond, and May have all committed to three seasons, which should equate to 36 episodes over the next three years. The first bit of filming for the show took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the most recent filming session taking place in Southern California.
