I just ordered a Solar Guitars E2.6, first time i bought a guitar "blind".

When do you receive your SOLAR? It looks like that model has the pickup switch in a logical location, unlike a recent signature model version of that guitar. o_O

I think i'll get it in the middle of next week.

My new guitar arrived a few days ago, it's great to play on, but i'm not convinced by the pickups yet..

How would you compare it to, say, some of schechter's nicer import models?

Finally getting some of the guitars on the wall. Been a dream since I started playing 30 years ago. :)

They all fit! (except the one I'm not keeping...and I need to replace the one for the classical guitar with a wider version of the hook).

A friend has a Schekter C1 Classic and i'd say build quality is about the same. And i do prefer this over a Gibson Explorer any day of the week.

edit. Nice wall!

Funny that between the two of us, we both managed to misspell Schecter. :lol:

Thanks! That string draped along the top row is a strip of RGB LED lights I've since mounted on the top edge of the top board, facing up (not pictured), because even though I've been playing for around 30 years, I'm actually a 13-year-old boy.

Nice!

Here is my wall. No fancy lighting though.

That looks really nice. Jealous of the amps! " :)

Mine will look nicer than it does once my boards span the whole wall, and I get them painted. I'm thinking painting them a medium/warm grey.

Then, in the space between them, either using that stick-up "reclaimed"-looking wood, or some sort of other visual accent material. I was thinking some sort of 3D sculpted panels/tiles like this:
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"300","width":"300","src":"http:\/\/www.art3d.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/3D-Illuminative-Wall-Covering-1-Box-3-m%C2%B2-or-32.29-Sq.Ft_-300x300.jpg"}[/IMG2]

...but she's thinking something more along the lines of:

Current re-working this, trying to fit in the chorus and reverb. Debating on going for the 4-cable method. Also finally properly testing and planning out the order of the fuzz/wah/buffer/tuner with a built-in buffer pedals.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Guitar=>
Dunlop Crybaby 95q Wah
Boss TU-3 Tuner
Xotix SP Compressor
Electro Harmonix Micro POG octave pedal
Electro Harmonix Soul Food (the bass version...love the "blend" knob)
Walrus Audio Iron Horse overdrive
Wampler Velvet Fuzz
Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator
JHS Little Black Buffer
MXR 10-band EQ pedal
Mooer LoFi Machine (basically a bit-crusher)
Hardwire SP-7 Stereo Phaser
TC Electronics Corona Mini chorus
MXR Carbon Copy digital delay
TC Electronics Hall Of Fame Mini reverb
TC Electronics Ditto Looper X2
=> amp

Fuck a duck.

I spent two days planning out my signal path, and three nights trying to figure out how to fit all of the pedals on the board in a way that made sense to me (the looper pedal and the wah in the front row, the three drive/gain pedals near each other in a row, and the looper at the very end with the output accessible...and I finally got it all figured out. I even have space to put on my cliché Ouija-themed "Altoids" box for. in the lower right (not in this photo)...

...but because the MXR 10-band EQ is 18v, I had to bridge two outputs on one of my power supplies, so I'm short ONE power supply output. I already have TWO Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus units mounted to the bottom...and I'm short ONE plug.

I took the buffer out of the chain because the tuner has one (and I find that some sort of buffer is needed...but the tuner is a shitty one...I was actually planning on getting a different un-buffered tuner pedal, because it does throw some funkiness into the fuzz.

*sigh*

Have you considered using a volume pedal? Most of them have a tuner only out which is always live. That way the tuner is out of the rest of the chain.

You should switch the left two, and then the right two. Then it would go "most pointy" to "least pointy". :)

I used to have a volume pedal, but I got rid of it. It just took up too much room, and I only really ever used it as a mute switch... I could never really find an all-that useful way to use it in my own playing.

That is a great point, though, about a separate output. Do you think if I just got a quarter inch Y splitter, that it would introduce noise? Or somehow rob output signal?

For my issue with the power supply output limit, I think I've come down to two options. One of them is a 9 volt to 18 volt transformer type product, that takes a 9 volt output from the power supply, and can double the voltage, using some extra amperage. One Spot has one. Reviews on that seem mixed though. Another thought is that I could use a daisy chain style power cable, and connect two analog low-draw pedals to the same output... But again, I've often heard that this type of power daisy chaining can introduce noise, or at least it's susceptible to noise.

My GF's OCD would go mad because of the different headstock shapes :p I might try it when she's not at home and see if she notices it.

Just bought A G-Major 2

I also ordered a Lundgren Black heaven pickup to get that Solar to sound as mean as it looks!
