Hendrix baby, but I think David Gilmour should be in this list.

Gilmour is definitely ace in my book. How many other guys at his age can still rock like this?

And here is my new love, Fernandes MG145S-HY :p.

Well worth checking out, The Story of the Guitar, 'bout 2Gb download

I saw buddy guy years ago in Milwaukee in a blues festival. Half-way through the show, he invites this skinny blonde in a baseball cap, jeans, and a t-shirt to sing with him. The lungs on this girl, you wouldn't believe. Turns out it was Christina Aguilera (spelling?) Since then, through all of her pop-princess career, I've never hated her (even though I hated all of her music) because I know what she's capable of, the respect she has for genuine music, and maybe as she's getting older, she'll put out something worth listening to...

As for that Fernades, I've always had a soft-spot for that shape guitar the first time...when it was called a B.C. Rich Mockingbird. :p Never got the hang of the sustainer, but I've always lusted after a neck-through, carved-top Mockingbird like Slash's: Mahogany and maple stripes...mmm...too bad the pick-ups suck, their gloss finished neck is sticky as hell, and their fretwork is atrocious...

^i think he said: That guitar can't do this:

I have a feeling I'm going to be chased out of this thread, even though I voted Clapton. :(

I'd rather have the Eric Johnson strat. Only modern fender i've played with acceptable build quality.

Great if you're into the crisp, deep and precise sound that Digitech modelers provide. ;)

Personally, I think it's fatiguing and it gets lost in a mix and it's too thin if you use reasonable ammounts of gain.

That's okay, I'm not into that anyways.

Sure you are! You are just to Italian to admit it! :p

btw: Sonar 6 sucks.. I wonder if Sonar 7 is any better...

I'm looking to upgrade to a good bang-for-the-buck guitar, and am looking at a MIM Fender Fat Strat. I've used both the humbucker and single-coils in my starter guitar in equal amounts, and having both types in one instrument is pretty tempting. My other option is to get either a regular Strat and add an Epiphone or a used Gibson SG later on. Am I likely to regret having an all-in-one at some point and end up switching to the two separates?

Okay, I have to ask-- Where the hell is Frank Marino! :-o

I don't think anyone can tell you that. ;)
