The 'I don't like Tesla' Thread

Researcher Asks U.S. To Recall Every Single Tesla After 2013 Over Sudden Unintended Acceleration

A Greek accident investigator is petitioning NHTSA to recall 1.6 million Teslas over their ability to shift from Drive to Reverse without touching the brake pedal
In the petition, Lakafossis points out that it has been known since the 1980s that the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) feature reduces instances of sudden unintended acceleration in vehicles with automatic transmissions. The feature has also been required on new vehicles since 2010.

It's very hard to argue against that, surely an easy fix via an OTA update.

I wonder if/how many other manufacturers have got away with it.

Anymore than six inches of water could be a problem for Tesla's. Other EV's probably the same?

IMO, Elon's tweet only says that it would float, not that the car would continue to operate if it was used like that. 😅

"thrust via wheel rotation" is bit much

Got a couple of Model 3 rwd/standard ranges added to the fleet at work, and all of them seem to have rattling/noise issues from the interior trim or front suspension. While the tech and drivetrain is nice, the build quality is still horrific for 2023 models.

As much as I like my Tesla and still like their cars, I'm starting to think that the best use of Tesla drivetrains and tech is in other cars!

For cars fitted with 'turbine' wheels, wouldn't the thrust be sideways? :p

Or if you happen to have 36 battery modules lying around:

Four years ago, Tesla traded with a market cap of $46bn. Today, it is over 12 times higher at $570bn.

Of course not.
Isn't it obvious Tesla is as valuable as ALL those 10 companies put together? you're just a hater. #TSLA

„will need to be sent an over-the-air software fix to rectify the issue“ 🤷‍♂️
"Tesla will also be required to send an electronic notification to drivers when they depress the accelerator for too long a period, according to Friday’s notice."

:dunno:
