The 'I don't like Tesla' Thread

I'm amazed it took this long.

there's been a few over the years, i think. one unlocking the acceleration boost, for example... and then the company completely unexpectedly getting sued by their customers when tesla patched the exploit lol

Yeah, because QC is going to break out the micometer for every truck that leaves the factory. This is just one of the reasons the design and materials used on the Cybertruck are idiotic.

I keep seeing people argue that the CT's design makes it easier the manufacture, and that may be true, but it always seems like it'd be much less forgiving, tolerance-wise.

I’m actually quite certain that, in addition to your qc-comment, it is simply impossible to mass-manufacture parts of that size to that kind of tolerance…

He wrote "all parts"

I want to see them trying to get someone to make a car seat to those tolerances like they're trying to copy Ferdinand Piech or something.

Am I overthinking it? the exterior is made of materials with different thermal expansion properties. A 20° temperature difference would make a 1m piece of 304 stainless expand/contract more than that tolerance?

Perhaps that mail is fake?
Entirely possible of course - as with all the leaked musk mails over the years 🤷‍♂️
but why spoil the fun… there’s enough definitely genuine stuff from him that’s similarly hopeless, this one just a little more fun 🙈
